Coastal Voyage – Svolvær
Depart Tromsø at 1:30am. Cruise through the spectacular Vesterålen and Lofoten Islands
to Svolvær. The Norwegian coastline with its 30,000 islands, 100,000 skerries and
millions of birds is among the most weather-beaten regions of the world. Meet the
elements of Norwegian coastal scenery as we sail the archipelagos and traverse the
choppy waters passing the rugged Norwegian landscape with its dramatic fjords, mountains
and small fishing villages. Breakfast on board ship. Before arriving in Svolvær,
you will see the captain carefully maneuver the ship through the shallow waters
of the Risøyrenna Channel, where sand banks are visible through the green water
on both sides of the channel. You’ll pass through the narrow Raftsund Strait leading
into the breathtaking Trollfjord. The fjord is so narrow and the cliffs are so steep
that the coastal liner cannot sound their sirens because of the risk of rock fall.
Arrive in Svolvær in the spectacular Lofoten Islands at 6:30pm. Overnight at Rica
Hotel Svolvær.
