-
Swords in Rock - At Hafrsfjord you can find the
national monument “Swords in Rock.” It was here that
Harold the Fairhaired fought a battle that united Norway
into one kingdom in 872 AD. The monument represents
peace, unity and freedom.
-
Stavanger Cathedral - Stavanger Cathedral is the only
Norwegian cathedral from the Middle Ages that has
retained its original appearance and has been in constant
use. It has a beautiful pulpit carved in wood from the mid-
17th century and impressive stained glass works by Victor
Sparre on the building’s east facade.
-
Sightseeing in city center - Stavanger city center is
ideal for short town walks. The distances are short and
there is plenty to see. Those interested in history will find
