2008 Norway in a Nutshell

“Norway in a Nutshell” is one of the most famous excursions taking you through some of the most breathtaking scenery of Fjord Norway. You will experience a train ride on the Bergen Railway & the spectacular Flåm Line, and a cruise on the Aurland & Nærøy Fjords, placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2005 and part of the well-known Sognefjord. In the summer, you travel from Gudvangen by bus around the hairpin bends of the famous mountain road via Stalheim to Voss.

Overnight stays en route permitted. Season: All year.

Itinerary: Train Oslo-Myrdal/5 hrs (8:11am-12:53pm R); Flåm Railway Myrdal-Flåm/1 hr (1:27pm- 2:25pm); Boat/Ferry Flåm-Gudvangen/2 hrs (3:00pm-5:10pm); Bus Gudvangen-Voss/1 hr (5:45pm- 7:05pm); Train Voss-Bergen/1 hr (7:20pm-8:35pm); Train Bergen-Oslo/7 hrs (10:58pm-6:26am R). Note: The overnight train from Bergen to Oslo is required to make return trip in one day. Night train runs daily except Saturdays. Optional sleeper cost NOT included.
