ITINERARY – 13 DAYS
DAY 1 TUESDAY, JULY 15
Mpls/St. Paul―Stockholm: Depart on your transatlantic flight. To request alternate dates or for estimated airfare supplements from other US cities, please note on application.
DAY 2 WEDNESDAY, JULY 16 [D]
Stockholm: Arrive at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Transfer to hotel in city center. Balance of day free to relax and adjust to time change. Welcome dinner and overnight at Clarion Sign Hotel.
DAY 3 THURSDAY, JULY 17 [B]
Stockholm: Morning sightseeing tour of the Swedish capital includes City Hall, site of the annual Nobel Prize banquet; and the Vasa Ship Museum, home of the 17th century warship which sank on her maiden voyage. Afternoon free to explore Stockholm including Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its narrow streets and old merchants’ houses. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 4 FRIDAY, JULY 18 [B,D]
Stockholm – Copenhagen: Enjoy a relaxing ride through the Swedish countryside as you travel by train from Stockholm to Copenhagen. Upon arrival in Copenhagen, transfer to the Copenhagen Strand Hotel, or similar, located along the Copenhagen Harbor. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 5 SATURDAY, JULY 19 [B]
Copenhagen: Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Copenhagen featuring the famous statue, the Little Mermaid. Time to browse the world’s longest shopping street, Strøget. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 6 SUNDAY, JULY 20 [B,D]
Copenhagen – Overnight Cruise: Morning drive to Frederiksborg Castle built over three islands housing priceless treasures such as furniture and tapestries. Return to Copenhagen. In the afternoon, depart on an overnight cruise to Oslo. Dinner and overnight on board in Commodore Class outside cabin
DAY 7 MONDAY, JULY 21 [B]
Oslo: Breakfast on board. Arrive in Oslo in the morning. Disembark. En route to the hotel, enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring a visit to Vigeland Park, the largest sculpture park in the world by a single artist, boasting over 200 pieces by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Balance of day free. Dinner on own. Overnight at the Thon Bristol Hotel, or similar.
DAY 8 TUESDAY, JULY 22 [B]
Oslo: Day free in Oslo. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 9 WEDNESDAY, JULY 23 [B,D]
Oslo – Flåm: Depart Oslo for the fjord-side community of Flåm. Drive through lush Valdres Valley to Borgund, tour one of the best preserved of the remaining stave churches. Drive through the world’s 2nd longest tunnel from Lærdal to Aurland. Dinner and overnight at the Fretheim Hotel, or similar.
DAY 10 THURSDAY, JULY 24 [B]
Flåm – Norway in a Nutshell Excursion® – Lofthus: Board the famous Flåm Railway, ranked as one of the top 20 train rides in the world. Enjoy breathtaking views and the thundering sound of waterfalls as we ascend 2800 feet within 13 miles from Flåm to Myrdal. Transfer to the Oslo/Bergen Railway and continue to Voss. Drive to Lofthus. Dinner and overnight at the exquisite Ullensvang Hotel, or similar, which offers a spectacular view of the Sørfjord.
DAY 11 FRIDAY, JULY 25 [B,L]
Lofthus – Bergen: Cross the Hardangerfjord on the recently opened Hardanger Bridge, which is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. Tour and lunch at a local sheep and fruit farm. Proceed along the scenic Hardangerfjord enroute to Bergen. Dinner on own. Overnight at the Scandic Hotel Norge, or similar.
DAY 12 SATURDAY, JULY 26 [B,D]
Bergen: Morning sightseeing tour of Bergen includes a guided walk through the historic Hanseatic Wharf. Balance of afternoon free. Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.
DAY 13 SUNDAY, JULY 27 [B]
Bergen – Depart: Tour ends following breakfast. Transfer to Flesland Airport for return flight. Longer stays may be requested upon registration for a minimum charge of $250.
