Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Saturday, July 6 Mpls/St. Paul / Chicago―Bergen

Depart the USA on your transatlantic flight. To request alternate dates or for estimated airfare supplements from other US cities, please note on application.

Day 2: Sunday, July 7 Bergen

Arrive at Flesland Airport Bergen. Transfer to hotel in city center. Balance of day free to relax and adjust to time change. Welcome dinner and overnight at Clarion Admiral Hotel.

Day 3: Monday, July 8 Bergen

Morning sightseeing tour includes a visit to Troldhaugen, home of Norway’s internationally-known composer, the late Edvard Grieg. Tour concludes with a guided walk through the historic Hanseatic Wharf. Balance of day free. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Tuesday, July 9 Bergen―Flåm―Voss

Drive to Voss. Board the famous Oslo/Bergen Railway and proceed to Myrdal. Change to the renowned Flåm Railway and descend 2800 feet within 13 miles to Flåm. Cruise the Aurlandfjord and Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. Return by motorcoach to Voss for dinner and overnight at Fleischer's Hotel.

Day 5: Wednesday, July 10 Voss―Oslo

Drive to Borgund Stave Church, one of the best preserved of the remaining stave churches. Continue through lush Valdres Valley to Oslo. Dinner. Overnight at the classic Grand Hotel.

Day 6: Thursday, July 11 Oslo

Morning sightseeing includes a tour of Vigeland Park and the Viking Ship Museum. Balance of day free. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Friday, July 12 Oslo―Copenhagen

Day free in Oslo. Afternoon transfer to quay for overnight cruise to Copenhagen departing at 4:30pm. Dinner on board. Overnight in outside Commodore Class cabin.

Day 8: Saturday, July 13 Copenhagen

Breakfast on board. Arrive in Copenhagen at 9:45am. Upon arrival, enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Copenhagen featuring the famous statue, the Little Mermaid. Time to browse the world’s longest shopping street, Strøget. Dinner on own. Overnight at Comfort Hotel Vesterbro.

Day 9: Sunday, July 14 Copenhagen―Växjö

Drive to Hillerød. Tour Frederiksborg Castle, built over three islands housing priceless treasures such as furniture and tapestries. Ferry from Helsingør to Helsingborg, Sweden. Continue to Kosta Boda, one of the world’s leading brands of glassware and art glass. Enjoy a "hyttsill dinner," a time-honored tradition including traditional food and music. Proceed to Växjö for overnight at Elite Stadshotellet Växjö.

Day 10: Monday, July 15 Växjö―Gothenburg

Morning visit to the Swedish Emigrant Institute, an internationally known research center and museum on Swedish migration. Continue to Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city. Dinner on own. Overnight at Elite Park Avenue Hotel in Gothenburg.

Day 11: Tuesday, July 16 Gothenburg

Learn about the history of the city on a cruise through the canals, under 20 bridges and into the bustling harbor. Balance of day free to visit the Volvo Museum, the Fish Church, or the Gothenburg Museum of Art featuring works by significant Nordic and international artists. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Wednesday, July 17 Gothenburg―Stockholm

Drive through the Swedish countryside to Stockholm, beautifully positioned on 14 islands. Dinner. Overnight at the Clarion Hotel Sign.

Day 13: Thursday, July 18 Stockholm

Morning sightseeing tour of the Swedish capital of Stockholm includes a tour of City Hall and the Vasa Ship Museum. Afternoon free to explore or relax. Farewell dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Friday, July 19 Stockholm―Depart

Tour ends following breakfast. Transfer to Stockholm Arlanda Airport for return flight. Longer stays may be requested upon registration or a minimum charge of $150.
