Given the continued uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus, Brekke Tours is currently accepting requests to hold space without a deposit. To request space on this tour, please complete the "Application to Hold Space" and return it to our office either via email or mail. Space is available on a first-come and first-served basis.

Once borders are open and it is determined that tour operations can proceed in a safe and confident manner, a confirmation packet will be sent to the email address provided on the form. The packet will include a detailed itinerary with confirmed price, an official registration form, terms and conditions, as well as insurance information. To reconfirm your participation, you will be asked to complete the official tour registration form and return it to our office within two weeks along with a $600 per person deposit. We would also need to know within those two weeks if you have decided not to travel as we would release the space being held for you.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: TUESDAY, JULY 27 Depart Mpls / St. Paul - Bergen

Depart on your transatlantic flight. To request alternate dates or for estimated airfare supplements from other US cities, please note on application.

DAY 2: WEDNESDAY, JULY 28 Bergen

Arrive at Bergen Flesland Airport. Transfer to hotel. Balance of day free to adjust to time change. Welcome dinner and overnight at the Clarion Admiral Hotel.

DAY 3: THURSDAY, JULY 29 Bergen―Voss

Morning sightseeing tour includes Troldhaugen, the home of Norway’s internationally-known composer, the late Edvard Grieg; and a walk through the historic Hanseatic Wharf. Drive to Voss. Visit Finnesloftet, a banquet hall built around 1250. Dinner and overnight at Fleischer’s Hotel.

DAY 4: FRIDAY, JULY 30 Voss

Tour the Voss Folk Museum (Mølstertunet), a farmstead with buildings from the 16th century and a rich collection of folk art. Afternoon free for independent exploration or opportunity for individual farm visits. (Individual arrangements may involve extra charges.) Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 5: SATURDAY, JULY 31 Voss―Vik―Sogndal

rive over the Vik Mountains. In Vik, visit the 12th century Hopperstad Stave Church, a replica of which is found in Moorhead, Minnesota. Ferry across the mighty Sognefjord. In Kaupanger, tour the Sogn Folk Museum, which provides an insight into life in Sogn from the Middle Ages to the present. Proceed to Sogndal for dinner and overnight at the Quality Hotel Sogndal.

DAY 6: SUNDAY, AUGUST 1 Sogndal―Flåm

Ferry from Mannheller to Fodnes. Cross the high mountain road to Stegastein Viewpoint for a spectacular view of Norway's fjord country. Cruise the Aurlandfjord and Nærøyfjord from Flåm to Gudvangen. Continue to Undredal for a walking tour of this small community with 80 people and nearly 500 goats. Visit Eldhuset for an introduction to the tradition of farming in the mountains, as well as the making of goat cheese. Dinner. Return to Flåm. Overnight at Fretheim Hotel.

DAY 7: MONDAY, AUGUST 2 Flåm―Gol―Beitostølen

Board the famous Flåm Railway, ranked as one of the top 20 train rides in the world. Ascend 2800 feet within 13 miles from Flåm to Myrdal. Switch to the Oslo/Bergen Railway and continue to Gol. Meet the motorcoach and continue to Beitostølen. Dinner and overnight at Radisson BLU Mountain Resort Beitostølen.

DAY 8: TUESDAY, AUGUST 3 Excursion in Area

Drive to Fagernes. Tour the Valdres Folk Museum. Afternoon free for independent exploration or opportunity for individual farm visits. (Individual arrangements may involve extra charges.) Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 9: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4 Beitostølen―Oslo

Proceed to Oslo via Jevnaker. Opportunity to purchase Norwegian glass/crystal at reduced prices at Hadeland Glassworks. Upon arrival in Oslo, enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring Vigeland Sculpture Park, the largest sculpture park in the world by a single artist, boasting over 200 pieces by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Overnight at the Grand Hotel.

DAY 10: THURSDAY, AUGUST 5 Oslo

Day free in Oslo for sightseeing or family heritage site visits. Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.

Tour ends following breakfast. Transfer to Oslo Gardermoen Airport for return flight. Longer stays may be requested upon registration for a minimum charge of $150.
