Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Saturday, June 29 USA―Bergen

Depart the USA on your transatlantic flight to Bergen, Norway. Airfare is additional and is available through Brekke Tours.

Day 2: Sunday, June 30 Bergen

Arrive at Bergen Flesland Airport. Transfer to hotel. Balance of day free to relax and adjust to time change. Welcome dinner and overnight at the Clarion Admiral Hotel.

Day 3: Monday, July 1 Bergen

Sightseeing tour of Norway’s second largest city includes a walk through the historic Hanseatic Wharf (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and a visit to Troldhaugen, home of Norway’s internationally-known composer, the late Edvard Grieg. Afternoon free to visit the famous Fish Market or ride the funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for a magnificent view of Bergen. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Tuesday, July 2 Bergen―Flåm―Voss

Drive to Voss. Board the famous Oslo/Bergen Railway and proceed to Myrdal. Change to the renowned Flåm Railway and descend 2800 feet within 13 miles to Flåm. Cruise the Aurlandfjord and Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. Dinner. Return by motorcoach to Voss for overnight at the Fleischer's Hotel.

Day 5: Wednesday, July 3 Voss―Oslo

Drive to Borgund Stave Church, one of the best preserved of the remaining stave churches. Continue through lush Valdres Valley to Oslo. Dinner. Overnight at the classic Grand Hotel.

Day 6: Thursday, July 4 Oslo

Sightseeing includes a tour of Vigeland Park and the Viking Ship Museum. Balance of day free to explore Norway’s capital city. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Friday, July 5 Oslo―Tällberg

Drive to the province of Värmland with its lakes and forests. There are many artists, writers and poets who have found inspiration in this region. Travel through Malung known for its leather industry. At Nusnäs, tour the center for the production of the traditional Dala wooden horses, the symbol of Sweden. Dinner and overnight at First Hotel Tällberg.

Day 8: Saturday, July 6 Tällberg―Stockholm

Continue to Sundborn, the home of Carl Larsson, one of Sweden’s most beloved artists and Dalarna, which epitomizes all things Swedish. Visit the old university town of Uppsala for a tour of the inspiring Uppsala Cathedral. Continue to Stockholm. Overnight at Clarion Hotel Sign.

Day 9: Sunday, July 7 Stockholm

Morning sightseeing tour of the Swedish capital includes City Hall, site of the annual Nobel Prize banquet; and the Vasa Ship Museum, home of the 17th century warship which sank on her maiden voyage. Afternoon free to explore Stockholm including Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its narrow streets and old merchants’ houses. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Monday, July 8 Stockholm

Day free in Stockholm to explore the city independently. You may wish to visit Skansen, the first open-air museum and zoo in Sweden; the Swedish History Museum which narrates Sweden's history from the earliest times to the present; or simply enjoy a stroll through the shops in Old Town. Farewell dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Tuesday, July 9 Stockholm―Depart

Tour ends following breakfast. Transfer to Stockholm Arlanda Airport for return flight. Longer stays may be requested upon registration for a minimum charge of $150.
