DAY 1     JUNE 17 / JULY 1 / JULY 29
Arrive Reykjavik: The Flybus shuttle brings you from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík. Overnight at Hotel Klettur.

DAY 2     JUNE 18 / JULY 2 / JULY 30                                      [B,D]
Reykjavik―Golden Circle―West Iceland: Depart Reykjavik for Gullfoss, the beautiful double “Golden Falls” and walk through the active geothermal area of Geysir. Visit the world heritage site of Thingvellir National Park before travelling along the scenic shores of Hvalfjörðurfjord. Overnight at Hotel Hamar in Borgarnes.

West Iceland―Lava Cave―Patreksfjörður: Travel around the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, through lava fields and along the ocean with many photo opportunities. Follow the adventure of Jules Verne’s classic science fiction novel with a tour of a lava cave under the glacier Snæfellsjökull. Depart by ferry to the West Fjords. Overnight at FossHotel Westfjords in Patreksfjörður.

Excursion in Area: Morning visit to the Folk and Transport Museum in Hnjótur. Continue through a very remote and sparsely populated region to the bird cliffs of Látrabjarg, the westernmost point of Iceland where you can see puffins. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 5     JUNE 21 / JULY 5 / AUGUST 2                                   [B,D]
Patreksfjörður―Hvammstangi: Travel to the majestic Arnarfjörður for a view of the Dynjandi waterfall, hailed as the country’s most beautiful. Visit Erpsstaðir, a family run dairy farm best known for their ice cream and various other dairy products. Overnight at Hotel Laugarbakki in Hvammstangi.

DAY 6     JUNE 22 / JULY 6 / AUGUST 3                                  [B,D]
Hvammstangi―Akureyri: Today’s journey is a little bit of the beaten track, around the Vatnsnes peninsula. Visit Hvítserkur, a mass of igneous rock, about 15 meters high, situated on the seashore; and Víðimýri, one of the few preserved turf churches in Iceland. Afterwards, travel to Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland. Overnight at Sæluhús Studio Apartments.

DAY 7     JUNE 23 / JULY 7 / AUGUST 4                                  [B,D]
Excursion in Area: Enjoy a whale watching in Eyjafjörður, Iceland’s longest fjord right below the Arctic Circle. Travel to Siglufjörður, known as the herring capital of the North Atlantic. Return to Akureyri. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 8     JUNE 24 / JULY 8 / AUGUST 5                                  [B,D]
Akureyri―Borgarfjörður Eystri: Explore Goðafoss, the waterfall of the Gods. Continue to the lava field Dimmuborgir and the crater Lake Víti. Travel to Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Explore the northernmost fjord on the East Fjord mountain range before driving to Borgarfjörður Eystri, home to an extensive population of elves – judging by the 172 local folk tales involving elves. Overnight at Guesthouse Álfheimar in Borgarfjörður Eystri.

DAY 9     JUNE 25 / JULY 9 / AUGUST 6                                  [B,D]
Borgarfjörður Eystri―Höfn: Enjoy a visit to Vök baths, a geothermal floating pools in Lake Urriðavatn where guests can soak in the hot water, within and surrounded by the lake. In the afternoon, see Vatnajökull, Europe’s biggest glacier that is visible all over Southeast Iceland. Overnight at FossHotel Vatnajökull.

DAY 10     JUNE 26 / JULY 10 / AUGUST 7                             [B,D]
Höfn―Vík: Visit Vatnajökull National Park which covers about 14% of Iceland, making it Europe’s 2nd largest national park in terms of area. Enjoy a boat ride amongst the floating icebergs on the glacial lagoon at Jökulsárlón. Cross a sandy desert before reaching Hotel Vík for dinner and overnight in the southernmost village in Iceland.

DAY 11     JUNE 27 / JULY 11 / AUGUST 8                              [B,D]
Vík―Reykjavik: Drive along Iceland’s south coast for a stroll along the black lava beach and bird cliffs. Visit the Lava & Volcano Exhibition Centre en route to Reykjavik. Farewell dinner in Reykjavík. Overnight at Hotel Klettur.

DAY 12     JUNE 28 / JULY 12 / AUGUST 9                             [B]
Reykjavik―Depart: Tour ends following breakfast. Transfer to Keflavik Airport by Flybus for return flight.
