ITINERARY – 12 DAYS

DAY 1     SATURDAY, JULY 20

Mpls/St. Paul―Oslo: Depart on your transatlantic flight. To request alternate dates or for estimated airfare supplements from other US cities, please note on application.

DAY 2     SUNDAY, JULY 21                                                         [D]
Oslo: Arrive at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. Transfer to hotel in city center. Balance of day free to adjust to time change. Welcome dinner and overnight at the Thon Hotel Bristol.

DAY 3     MONDAY, JULY 22                                                       [B,D]
Oslo: Morning sightseeing tour of Oslo includes a visit to Vigeland Sculpture Park and the Norwegian Folk Museum featuring the Gol Stave Church. Balance of day free. Dinner on own. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 4     TUESDAY, JULY 23                                                      [B,L]
Oslo―Lillehammer: Depart Oslo for Hamar. Tour the unique Glass Cathedral, an architectural and technological masterpiece created to protect cathedral ruins from the Middle Ages. Proceed to a local farm. Along with a tasty lunch, you will receive an introduction to agriculture and farm life in Norway. Continue to Lillehammer. View the sites of the 1994 Winter Olympics. Dinner on own. Overnight at Scandic Victoria Lillehammer Hotel.

DAY 5     WEDNESDAY, JULY 24                                              [B,D]
Lillehammer―Geiranger: Travel through the Gudbrandsdal and Otta Valleys to Lom. Visit the Fossheim Steinsenter in Lom for a chance to explore the Stone Museum and shop in the jewelry gallery. Continue across the Grotli Mountains to the luxurious Union Hotel overlooking the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005.

DAY 6     THURSDAY, JULY 25                                                  [B,D]
Geiranger―Loen: Cruise the renowned Geirangerfjord from Geiranger to Hellesylt. Proceed to Briksdal Glacier. Ride the “Troll Cart” to view the glacier and feel the icy waters of the river below. Continue to Loen. Dinner and overnight at Loenfjord Hotel.

DAY 7     FRIDAY, JULY 26                                                         [B,D]
Loen: Day free to relax at the hotel or experience the Loen Skylift for a view of the surrounding fjords and mountains. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 8     SATURDAY, JULY 27                                                  [B,D]
Loen―Flåm: Morning drive to Skei. Opportunity to purchase quality crafts and woven products at Audhild Viken’s Weaving Workshop. Ferry across the Sognefjord and continue to Flåm. Dinner and overnight at the Flåmsbrygga Hotel.

DAY 9     SUNDAY, JULY 28                                                       [B]
Flåm―Norway in a Nutshell―Lofthus: Board the famous Flåm Railway, ranked as one of the top 20 train rides in the world. Enjoy breathtaking views and the thundering sound of waterfalls as we ascend 2800 feet within 13 miles from Flåm to Myrdal. Transfer to the Oslo/Bergen Railway and continue to Voss. Drive to Lofthus. Dinner and overnight at the exquisite Ullensvang Hotel, which offers a spectacular view of the Sørfjord.

DAY 10     MONDAY, JULY 29                                                    [B,L]
Lofthus―Bergen: Cross the Hardangerfjord on the recently opened Hardanger Bridge, which is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. Tour and lunch at a local sheep and fruit farm. Proceed along the scenic Hardangerfjord enroute to Bergen. Dinner on own. Overnight at Scandic Hotel Norge.

DAY 11     TUESDAY, JULY 30                                                    [B,D]
Bergen: Morning walking sightseeing tour includes a stroll through the historic Hanseatic Wharf. Balance of day free. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 12     WEDNESDAY, JULY 31                                             [B]
Bergen―Depart: Tour ends following breakfast. Transfer to Bergen Flesland Airport for return flight. Longer stays may be requested upon registration for a minimum charge of $250.
