ITINERARY – 7 DAYS

DAY 1     BERGEN                                                                                           [D]
Day free in Bergen to explore independently. At 6:00pm take a boat transfer to an island outside Bergen. Here, you will find one of the most exotic attractions in the archipelago of Western Norway, the Cornelius Restaurant. Your culinary journey starts at the moment you enter the boat at the historic Bryggen Wharf, located right in the city center. On the 25-minutes boat trip to Holmen, you can enjoy spectacular views of the fjord, mountains, skerries and the bustling life along the coast. Cornelius is one of Scandinavia’s most prestigious seafood restaurants. Inspired by the weather of the day and the raw beauty of the local fjords, Cornelius serves a 5-course Meteorological Menu, prepared using innovative culinary techniques and with a genuine passion for seafood. Return at 10:30pm and overnight at Hotel Norge by Scandic.

DAY 2     BERGEN                                                                                          [B,L]
Breakfast at hotel. At 1:00pm, take a bus to Troldhaugen, the home of composer Edvard Grieg, a living museum comprising an exhibition center with shop and cafe, concert hall, composers’ cabin and Grieg’s villa dating from 1885. Enjoy a 30-minute recital before returning to Bergen at 4:00pm. Balance of day free. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 3     BERGEN – TORSHAVN                                                             [B]
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer on own to Bergen Flesland Airport for morning flight to Torshavn, Faroe Islands, Transfer to Hotel Brandan. Balance of day free to explore the capital and largest city of the Faroe Islands. Known for its old town, Tinganes, crammed with wooden turf-roofed houses on a small peninsula, Torshavn also features a cathedral that was rebuilt in the 19th century. Local boutiques dot the main shopping strip, Niels Finsens gøta. To the north, the Nordic House cultural center offers theater, dance and music performances in a contemporary space. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4     NORTHERN ISLANDS                                                              [B,L]
Breakfast at hotel. A whole day’s guided tour visiting the islands of Eysturoy, Borðoy, Kalsoy, and Viðoy. Relax while the local tour guide points out all the most beautiful views along the tour and the many photostops en route. Sail on a small ferry to the beautiful Kalsoy island to visit Trøllanes, Mikladalur, Húsar, and Syðradalur. In Trøllanes you can visit the tiny kiosk and the VIP Viewpoint of the Puffins and other sea birds nesting nearby. Here you can also take the optional guided hike to Kallur Lighthouse and the famous James Bond Memorial. From Trøllanes you will visit the gorgeous Djúpadalur secret valley before coming to Mikladalur. The next stop, Mikladalur, is the home of the famous Seal Woman statue. Join us at the wonderful Café Edge right above the Seal Woman for your complimentary lunch. On the way back to the ferry you will stop in Syðradalur which offers a beautiful memorial to locals who have died at sea. After arriving back in Klaksvík you will be driven further north to the most northern village in the Faroes, Viðareiði. There you will get to see many sights and take many pictures of the beautiful landscape and surrounding islands. After Viðareiði you will be taken back to Tórshavn and dropped off at your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 5     VAGAR ISLAND                                                                          [B,L]
Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy another full-day tour to Vagar Island. Stop at Viewpoint Tórshavn for pictures of the city from above. After that, continue to the Norðadalsskarð viewpoint and enjoy the magnificent view of Norðadalur, Koltur Island, and the Trøllhøvdið islet. From there you will stop at the Mjørkadalur viewpoint and enjoy a great view of Kaldbaksfjørður. After a short drive you will then stop at the Kollafjørður viewpoint, before stopping at the EFFO station for a complimentary coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, before driving through the Vágatunnil Sub-Sea Tunnel, the first one to open in the Faroe Islands. From Kollafjørð you will drive to Sandavágur to visit the beautiful Church and its neighboring Statue of the Hulduwoman. These are the dominant features of photography. After this, you will drive straight across the island to Gásadalur, the remote village with the most photographed Waterfall in the Faroes, Múlafossur. Here you will get to enjoy our delicious homemade lunch. After enjoying the beautiful and serene surroundings of Gásadalur and its view of Mykines Island, you will drive to Bøur, probably the most picturesque village in the Country. A brief stop en route to take pictures of the amazing Tindhólmur islet with its many peaks. Enjoy a walk through the village and its many beautiful views. From Bøur you will be taken to the War Museum located in the old wartime buildings next to the Airport. Learn about the British Occupation of the Faroes during the Second World War and the effects of Operation Valentine on the islands. After the Museum we will drive to the Leitisvatn/Sørvágsvatn viewpoint. Close by is the unique Nykurin (the Nix) statue with its story engraved on a plaque on the shore. After Leitisvatn you will be driven to Miðvágur, from where the optional hike to Trælanípan (the Slave Cliff) starts. This easy-to-moderate hike of the app. 3 hours will take you to the incredible viewpoints of Trælanípan, the Bøsdalafossur waterfall, and the “Lake above the Ocean”. From there the bus will take you back to Tórshavn and drop you off at your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 6     TORSHAVN                                                                                 [B,D]
Breakfast at hotel. Morning free. At 2:00pm, take in the amazing sights of the Eastern side of Nólsoy, as you cruise past two lighthouses, and witness the majestic birdlife – including puffins! This is a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get back to nature. With this boat tour, you can enjoy the breathtaking views and peaceful atmosphere that the island has to offer. Return to Torshavn. Faroese lamb dinner at Aarstova on your final night.

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for your return flights.
